A Pitch revival almost happened, but it couldn't find a home at Disney

The Dan Fogelman-co-created baseball drama that Fox canceled after a few months in 2016 came close to being revived. The This Is Us creator was talked into re-signing with 20th Century Fox TV with the idea of him reviving Pitch. So Fogelman reassembled the core cast, including Kylie Bunbury and Mark-Paul Gosselaar. But before Fogelman could assemble a writers' room, he was told that there was no room for a Pitch revival on any of the Disney properties, including Disney+.
