Baldwin will bring the in-depth interviews that he's known for on his WNYC podcast Here's the Thing to television, starting on Sunday after the Oscars. ABC usually airs Jimmy Kimmel Live! After the Academy Awards following the Oscars, but Kimmel is busy hosting the Oscars for the second year in a row. ABC will air the pilot episode on Sunday, featuring in-depth interviews with Jerry Seinfeld and SNL co-star Kate McKinnon. ABC is billing Sunday's episode as a sneak preview, and the plan is to have two guests per show. “I'm excited about this show and grateful to ABC for taking a chance on me in what is, admittedly, a crowded field,” says Baldwin. “I've enjoyed doing my podcast for WNYC and look forward to the challenge of doing a show on camera.” ABC won't say when Sundays with Alec Baldwin will officially premiere.
