Five years ago, Sandler told Norm Macdonald "Why should I?" when asked why he has never hosted Saturday Night Live. “I don’t know how good it would be. I’m slow now," he said on Macdonald's podcast. Last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Sandler, promoting his first time hosting SNL this weekend, joked that his decision to host was a "mistake. They caught me in a weak moment." He added: "No those guys are great. (My Netflix) special came out and some guys from Saturday Night Live called me and said, ‘Come on, come host.’ I love Lorne (Michaels) and I wanted to see him and do it with him and be on the show and bring back some guys, but I gotta tell you, it’s knocked me out. I’m so knocked out right now.”
