As part of its push to find the next Game of Thrones, Amazon is planning a drama based on the Robert E. Howard books that were famously made into two movies starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. There have been previous Conan TV series, including two animated series and the live-action syndicated Conan the Adventurer series in 1997. The potential Conan series is from former NBC boss Warren Littlefield, who has successfully served as executive producer of Fargo and The Handmaid’s Tale. Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik, who won an Emmy for the “Battle of the Bastards" episode, is also behind the project.
