Amazon recently concluded its sexual misconduct investigation into Tambor, and the decision to cut ties was made in the last week, according to Deadline. Tambor had originally said he wasn't returning to the Amazon series after he was accused of sexual harassment on set, but the actor and his reps later tried to walk back his declaration. Deadline reports that no details of Amazon's investigation were revealed, but Tambor’s behavior “could not be justified or excused under scrutiny.” “I have great respect and admiration for Van Barnes and Trace Lysette, whose courage in speaking out about their experience on Transparent is an example of the leadership this moment in our culture requires,” creator Jill Soloway said in a statement Thurdsay. “We are grateful to the many trans people who have supported our vision for Transparent since its inception and remain heartbroken about the pain and mistrust their experience has generated in our community,” Soloway added. “We are taking definitive action to ensure our workplace respects the safety and dignity of every individual, and are taking steps to heal as a family.”
