An eight-episode revival of the classic Lorne Michaels-produced Canadian sketch comedy series that originally aired from 1989 to 1995 has been ordered as Amazon's first Canadian original series. Original cast members Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson are all on board for the revival, along with executive producer Michaels. “Even after 30 years, The Kids in the Hall has retained its brilliance and originality,” says Michaels, who's been shopping the revival since September 2017. “We are happy to be bringing back all of the original Kids for the new series.” The Kids in the Hall is based on the Canadian sketch comedy troupe of the same name that formed in 1984. Their TV show aired on CBC in Canada and was also shown in the United States on CBS, HBO and Comedy Central. The Kids made one film, 1996's Brain Candy, and reunited in 2010 for an eight-part CBC miniseries Death Comes to Town.
