Norwalk city officials were so incensed over the jokes told at their city’s expense that the city’s superintendent sent a letter calling them “pejorative, demeaning and divisive,” while the mayor said they were “a form of bullying.” Producers responded today in a statement saying: “As a comedy, American Housewife isn’t intended to offend anyone. We’ve heard the concerns of the people of Norwalk and have made the decision to omit any mentions of the city from future episodes.”
