McKay will serve as executive producer and director of the first episode of Kings of America, the true story of three women who filed a class-action lawsuit against Walmart. Adams will play one of the three women. According to the official series description, the drama tells "the stories of three powerful women whose lives were inextricably intertwined with the world's largest company: a Walmart heiress, a maverick executive, and a longtime Walmart saleswoman and preacher who dared to fight against the retail giant in the biggest class-action lawsuit in U.S. history." Deadline reports Netflix picked up Kings of America before the coronavirus shutdown. Kings of America was created by journalist and I Love My Computer Because My Friends Live In It author Jess Kimball Leslie. McKay and Adams previously worked together in the movies Vice and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.
