The activist and legal consultant who inspired Julia Roberts' Oscar-winning role in the 2000 film Erin Brockovich is teaming up with Grey's Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff on Rebel. The potential series will explore what life is like for Brockovich two decades after her life became a a hit movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rebel will revolve around Annie "Rebel" Rebelsky, who is still working as a legal consultant without a law degree 20 years after her life was made into a movie. "The drama is described as revolving around a funny, messy, brilliant and fearless real-life super hero who cares desperately about the causes she fights for and the people she loves, when Rebel applies herself to a fight she believes in, she will win at almost any cost," per The Hollywood Reporter. Vernoff will write the script with Brockovich serving as an executive producer.
