Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men creator Sacha Jenkins will helm Black & Blues: The Colorful Ballad of Louis Armstrong will examine Armstrong’s life and legacy as a founding father of jazz, the first pop star and a cultural ambassador of the United States. It will also delve into the misconception that Armstrong didn't do enough to support the Civil Rights Movement. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer will serve as executive producers of the documentary. The film also has the full support of the Louis Armstrong Educational Foundation, which granted access to a wide array of never-before-seen archival materials.
