Starting Sept. 9, Bush will host Extra Extra, a new iteration of Extra that will feature a modernized set with an in-depth focus at topics including pop-culture, sports and politics. Current Extra host Mario Lopez will continue in his job through the rest of the season. The new Extra is part of the syndicated entertainment show's move from NBC to Fox stations this fall. This will be Bush's first TV gig since he was dropped from the Today show following the emergence of his infamous Donald Trump Access Hollywood tape before the 2016 election. The Hollywood Reporter reported in January that Bush was in talks for Extra. “We all have to be able to evolve as we grow,” Bush tells People. “The guy that left the scene in 2016 was already a changed person (since 2005), but I had the opportunity to grow up a little bit. Facing adversity in some way is good. And I feel I’ll be better at my job than I ever was. This is my next step.”
