Britain's Channel 5 and PBS are teaming to retell the story of a fictional veterinary surgeon in rural England, based on the novels by James Herriott, the pen name of British veterinary surgeon Alf Wight. All Creatures Great and Small originally aired from 1978 to 1980 and 1988 to 1990. The series will shoot on location in Yorkshire, England, with plans for it to air to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the book series' debut in 2020.
