Major networks reportedly agonized over whether to air Trump's speech at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday night about the U.S.-Mexico border after critics complained it would be a political speech. "Now that the television networks have decided to air the President's address, which if his past statements are any indication will be full of malice and misinformation, Democrats must immediately be given equal airtime," Democratic leaders Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senator Chuck Schumer said in a statement. As Politico points out, CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox declined to air President Obama's primetime speech on immigration in 2014 because it was considered "overtly political."
