CBS News' new president's top priority is reportedly to keep Gayle King on CBS This Morning

King's $5.5 million-a-year contract is up this year, and she is said to be concerned about her morning show's ratings slippage. “As far as I know I still have a contract there,” King joked when The Hollywood Reporter asked her on Thursday about her CBS News future. According to The Hollywood Reporter, new CBS News president's Susan Zirinsky's "immediate priority" is to extend King's contract. “Everything hinges on Gayle,” said one CBS News staffer. “She wants to be part of something competitive. I think they have some heavy lifting to do still with Gayle.”
