A pilot production commitment has been given to the potential reboot of The Equalizer, the crime drama starring Edward Woodward as a retired intelligence agent with a mysterious past that aired on CBS from 1985 to 1989. It was later adapted as two movies in 2014 and 2018 with Denzel Washington in the starring role. The husband-and-wife team of Castle creator Andrew Marlowe and Terri Miller will write the new take on The Equalizer -- originally created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim -- that has Queen Latifah portraying an enigmatic figure who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn. The Equalizer is the second high-profile action project in the works at CBS, following the Sylvester Stallone-produced pilot starring Dolph Lundgren as a black-ops soldier working for the United Nations.
