CBS spent the first five minutes of its upfronts presentation talking about empowering women on and off camera with the #CBSSeesHer hashtag. But it looked out of place presenting that hashtag hours after CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl defended renewing Bull following the Michael Weatherly sexual harassment scandal. "However things were handled in the past, they're not being handled that way now," Kahl said. There was a lot of ignoring and misdirection with regards to CBS' sexual harassment problems, said Daniel Fienberg. And yet, CBS presented new shows that "looked generally more consistent and promising than anything else we've seen this week, judging only by trailers."
