The Queen Latifah-led crime drama reboot has put up strong numbers after premiering a month ago after the Super Bowl. Accounting for delayed viewing, The Equalizer premiered to 23.8 million viewers on Super Bowl Sunday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, subsequent episodes have held up well, making it the most-watched non-sports show of this season with 14.6 million viewers per episode. “The Equalizer has proven more than equal to the task of engaging viewers and racking up wins on Sunday night,” CBS Entertainment president Kelly Kahl said in a statement. “We’re extremely proud to see this outstanding broadcast drama, led by Queen Latifah, punch through the competitive landscape and return for a second season.”
