CNN anchors Jim Sciutto and Poppy Harlow were reporting on the explosive packages sent to Bill and Hillary Clinton's house and former President Barack's Obama's office when fire alarms went off and the anchors cut short an interview in order to evacuate the Time Warner Center building. Fifteen minutes later, they resumed reporting via cellphone from outside the building."The New York bomb squad unit right in front of the building, they are taking this very seriously," Sciutto said, adding that the package was found inside the mailroom after it was delivered. He added: "They want us across the avenue, as far away as the building." CNN president Jeff Zucker sent a memo to CNN employees stating: "The Time Warner Center has been evacuated out of an abundance of caution, as a result of a suspicious package having been received in the mailroom. We are working with authorities to determine the severity of the situation. The NYPD is on scene, and we we working closely with them to take every precaution. We are also checking all bureaus around the world, out of a complete abundance of caution."
