"At least 30 town hall events have been hosted by the three main cable news networks (Fox, CNN and MSNBC)," says Philip Bump. "With only one exception, most don’t appear to have done much to boost candidates’ chances." That one exception is Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who went from zero in the polls to 1.6% following his first CNN town hall.
