The John Stamos-hosted annual music and fireworks celebration will take place on the west lawn of the Capitol Building at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, featuring performances by King, Vanessa Carlton, Vanessa Williams and others. President Trump's controversial military-themed "Salute to America," meanwhile, will take place earlier in the evening at the National Mall. "Just to be clear – I am appearing in A Capitol Fourth, the traditional event held annually on the lawn at the Capitol. I am NOT participating in t’s political rally," King says in a cartoon tweet posted to the top of her Twitter page. The cartoon depicts the president as being "so far away." A Capitol Fourth's Twitter page also tried to clear any confusion by pinning a tweet from early last month explaining that the PBS show "remains unaffiliated with any other July 4th events around the country and in other locations in Washington, D.C."
