Saturday Night Live hasn't had an openly gay male full-fledged cast member since Terry Sweeney became the first and only one for one season, from 1985 to 1986. (Kate McKinnon is only the second out cast member.) “It would be nice if they put a gay man on camera on that show,” says Adomian, who became famous in recent years for playing Bernie Sanders on stage with a pre-President Show Anthony Atamanuik as Donald Trump. “I’ve been out of the closet the whole time since I auditioned 13 years ago. You would think that they would have tried to put someone else on that was a gay man. It’s about time.” He also accuses SNL of ripping off jokes from casting tapes. “That’s a scandal that’s going to break open sooner or later, I guess. SNL is notorious for passing around audition tapes," he says. "It happened to me. It happened to Anthony. It’s happened to other people I know.”
