Moore wants nothing to do with Lindelof's HBO adaptation -- or any adaptation -- of his popular graphic novel. He won't even allow his name to be credited on the series. “Alan Moore is a genius,” Lindelof, who tried to connect with Moore, said at the TV press tour, before admitting “he’s made it very clear that he doesn’t want to have any association or affiliation with Watchmen." But Lindelof said he admired Moore's "punk rock spirit, rebellious spirit." Lindelof added that he thinks if Moore were told back in the day that he couldn’t do something, “he would say, 'F*ck you. I’m doing it anyway… so I’m channeling the spirit of Alan Moore to tell Alan Moore, 'F*ck you. I’m doing it anyway.'" Lindelof also spoke about being a huge Watchmen fan, and said he initially “went through a very intensive period of terror of f*cking it up, and I’m not entirely sure I’m out of that tunnel.”
