David H. DePatie, co-creator of The Pink Panther cartoon, dies at 91

DePatie and his animation producer partner Friz Freleng created the cartoon title sequence for Blake Edwards' 1963 heist comedy The Pink Panther starring Peter Sellers. That led to The Pink Panther becoming a series of cartoon shorts, most notably The Pink Panther Show from 1969 to 1971 and The New Pink Panther Show from 1971 to 1974. DePatie and Freleng also created the animated title sequence for I Dream of Jeannie and produced several Dr. Seuss specials. Additionally, DePatie produced The Bugs Bunny Show and The Adventures of the Road Runner.
