Letterman filmed a special message for Lifespan Health System after he was treated for his head injury at a Providence, Rhode Island hospital on Aug. 16. Letterman says he fell and hit his head while walking with his son Harry. “The ambulance comes and picks me up," says Letterman. "They take me and my son in the ambulance to the emergency room and they stitch me up, they X-rayed my head, they gave me a CT scan, they scrubbed me up."
