Dennis the Menace mom Gloria Henry dies at 98

Henry, who died on Saturday one day after turning 98, starred on the 1959-1963 CBS sitcom as the loving Alice Mitchell, the mother of the title character played by Jay North. "Many of the fans say, 'Oh, I always wished you were my mom' and 'My mom was jealous of you, because I wanted you for a mom,'" she said in a 2011 interview. "Which is pretty funny, because I don't think my own children felt that way."
