Discovery Channel's attempt at a U.S.-Mexico border spin on A&E's hit Live P.D. format failed to catch on, despite the border being in the news thanks to the Trump presidency. Discovery originally announced the Bill Weir-hosted Border Live as a six-part limited series. But Border Live, featuring Weir in a New York City studio with live reports from the border, has been dropped after just three airings, the last of which was on Dec. 19 -- three days before the government was shut down over President Trump's demand for federal funding to build a new wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Border Live attracted just 433,000 viewers and a 0.1 ratings in the key 18-49 demo with its last episode.
