Burn Notice and The Gifted creator Matt Nix is working on a TV series revival of the 1989 Tom Hanks buddy cop film that co-starred Beasley the Dog as Hanks' pet partner Hooch. The potential TV series is expected to keep the same premise, according to Deadline's Nellie Andreeva, who adds: "The TV series had been in the works for awhile. It has been gathering momentum recently, and I hear it is heating up for a green light...Nix is the Turner & Hooch series writer/executive producer. 20th Century Fox TV, part of Disney TV Studios, is the studio. The project marks the latest cooperation between studio divisions on both side of the Disney-Fox merger as 20th TV is tackling a classic Touchstone Pictures title." This won't be the first attempt at a Turner & Hooch TV series. ABC made a comedy pilot for a Turner & Hooch TV series in 1990, starring Thomas F. Wilson as Det. Scott Turner and Beasley the Dog reprising his role. The pilot wasn't picked up but did air as part of ABC’s Wonderful World of Disney banner in July 1990.
