Disney's streaming service has officially greenlighted The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, reuniting the original cast of the 2001-2005 Disney Channel animated comedy. No airdate for the revival has been announced. The news comes after original cast members Tommy Davidson and Jo Marie Payton said last year a reboot was in the works. Kyla Pratt will return as Penny Proud, Davidson as Oscar Proud, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud, Payton as Suga Mama, Karen Malina White as Dijonay Jones, Soleil Moon Frye as Zoey Howzer, Alisa Reyes as LaCienega Boulevardez and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby Proud. The Proud Family creator Bruce W. Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar are returning along with co-executive producer and story editor Calvin Brown. “In our minds, the show never really went away, as we still had tons of stories left to tell,” Smith and Farquhar said in a statement. “It’s the perfect time to bring back this show, and we can’t wait to take fans, old and new alike, on this journey with us.”
