The rocky partnership between ESPN and Barstool Sports lasted one week after an internal and external uproar over the sports network’s link to a brand that has been accused of being misogynistic. “Criticism from outside was matched by criticism from inside @espn & Skipper placed great deal of import on the later,” tweeted ESPN historian James Andrew Miller, referring to ESPN president John Skipper. Last week, before the late-night show’s launch, one of the network’s stars, Sam Ponder, brought up nasty comments directed at her by Barstool president Dave Portnoy.
