Adam McKay will executive produce Game Theory with Bomani Jones, which will delve into timely topics about sports when it premieres next year. Jones will join HBO while still being under contract at ESPN, where he'll continue hosting his podcast The Right Time and appear on daily studio shows Around the Horn and Debatable. Last month, Jones began appearing on HBO's Back on the Record with Bob Costas as a contributor. Earlier this week, the New York Post's Andrew Marchand reported that Jones was expected to leave ESPN in March when his contract is up. "a sports media question of this week was 'is bomani leaving espn in march?'" Jones tweeted in announcing the Game Theory news. "the answer is NO." As The New York Times' Kevin Draper points out, "for a long time ESPN strongly resisted staffers doing any outside work, but in an era of belt-tightening salary cuts, they seem to be much more comfortable paying smaller amounts of money for 10% or 25% or 50% of somebody’s work."
