The beloved SportsCenter anchor and correspondent tweeted he was a "salary cap casualty." The New York Post's Andrew Marchand reports that Mayne was offered to stay at reduced pay. "The seven-figure SportsCenter anchors are either going to take cuts or be forced to leave for the most part," Marchand tweeted. "That's where ESPN is going, outside of Scott Van Pelt." Marchand adds: "This is a trend in many of its negotiations as it tries to 'market corrects' what it views as exorbitant salaries." Mayne is expected to host tonight's SportsCenter.
