Ellen was asked about her future while promoting her Relatable standup special at a Netflix Emmy event Wednesday night. Asked if she sees an end in sight to her daytime talk show, Ellen told The Hollywood Reporter: "Yeah, of course. I think that whenever I'm tired. I think that whenever the show is a little rough to do. I'll know when it's the end. I'll know when I feel it. And I don't feel that right now, so we'll see how long I go. But you know, I didn't think I'd go 16 years. This is crazy. I mean, most shows don't." Later, during a conversation on stage with Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen admitted "getting the itch" to return to standup. “I do love it and will do it again, just not full-time. it’s a hard life," she said. Ellen also admitted she almost quit her Netflix special. “I almost gave the money back twice," she said. "I kept saying, ‘I don’t have anything to talk about.’ But the idea came to me a year and-a-half later.”
