Persoff, who died Tuesday at age 102, had a slew of TV credits from the 1940s through the 2000s, from The Twilight Zone to Law & Order to Gilligan’s Island. Persoff was ubiquitous on TV for his face, but not his name. "He was seen on hundreds of shows, beginning in the late 1940s," Joseph Berger writes in Persoff's New York Times obituary. "He usually played a supporting character, sometimes kindly, sometimes malevolent, but, given his gift for dialect, frequently with an undefined foreign accent."
