The right-leaning cable news network was left flustered by The Atlantic's story alleging that President Trump called Americans who died at war "losers" and "suckers." At first, Fox News attacked the article. But on Friday, Fox News national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin confirmed the article in a series of tweets and on Fox News Channel. After Fox News confirmed it, The Five's Greg Gutfeld bashed the “debunked” and “outrageous” report as a “scam” and a “hoax.” But by late Friday, Fox News was essentially saying The Atlantic article was true, even if its home page called it "a hoax." Meanwhile, in a late-night tweet Friday, Trump called on Fox News to fire Griffin.
