Fox is expected to take a ratings and revenue hit after the U.S. men’s soccer team failed to qualify for the World Cup

Fox won a bidding war with ESPN, paying between $450 million and $500 million to take over the rights the broadcast the World Cup. But interest will likely drop since this is the first time since 1986 that the U.S. Men's National Team failed to qualify for the World Cup.
