Game of Thrones confirms final season runtimes -- Season 8 will be eight minutes shorter than Season 7

The first two episodes will wrap up in less than an hour, with 54- and 58-minute runtimes, respectively. The remaining four episodes will run around 1 hour and 20 minutes. Slate did the calculations and found that the seven-episode Season 7 had combined running time of 440 minutes, while the six-episode Season 8 will run a total of 432 minutes. The runtimes go against rumors that go back as early as from summer 2017 of runtimes of two hours in length.
