Game of Thrones' epic final season battle scene took much longer than 55 days to shoot

In April, assistant director Jonathan Quinlan let slip on Instagram that the final season's epic battle season took "55 straight nights" to film. In fact, EW reports in its latest issue that the shoot actually took weeks longer thanks to extensive shooting on soundstages.
