The Oscar-winning actress is poised to return to TV on an untitled mother-son legal drama about a "talented but directionless P.I. who begrudgingly agrees to work as the in-house investigator for his overbearing mother Joan, a successful attorney reeling from the recent dissolution of her marriage (played by Davis)," according to Deadline. Davis' character is described as "razor sharp" and "very controlling," while her son Todd is "her least reliable child." The untitled pilot is from Wilfred writer Scott Prendergast. Davis and Prendergast previously collaborated in 2013 on the failed TNT bounty hunter pilot Green. If the show is picked up, it would mark a return to the small screen for former Commander in Chief star Davis, who in recent years has had recurring roles on She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and GLOW.
