Lena Dunham is producing the HBO Max pilot about teens "whose exploration of modern sexuality (devices and all) tests deeply entrenched beliefs about life." Zelda Barnz, 17, is writing the show with her dad Daniel Barnz. "I’ll try and keep this brief but....WOW my first deadline announcement at 17," Zelda wrote on Instagram. "I am so incredibly grateful for all the opportunities that have presented themselves to me over the past three years. I have wanted to tell stories from the minute I could talk. This is everything." Generation won't be the first teen show with teenage writers. Britain's Skins famously employed a staff of teen writers (though most episodes were written by writers in their 20s). Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya was among Skins' teen writers. His first episode aired when he was 19.
