Martin wrote on his blog that of the five prequels that HBO considered, "one of those has been shelved, I am given to understand, and of course Jane’s pilot is now moving to film," referring to the Jane Goldman prequel that HBO picked up to pilot on Friday. Martin also wrote on his blog that he preferred to call the first prequel from Goldman The Long Night. But that title will probably be rejected, he explains, because, “HBO will want to work the phrase ‘Game of Thrones’ in there somewhere.” Martin says he's met with all the writers for the proposed prequel, and he was really impressed with Goldman. "Really, the accolades here should go to Jane. She has been an absolute thrill to work with… and my god, what a talent," he wrote. ALSO: Explaining "Age of Heroes."
