The Fosters spinoff actually bid farewell two of its stars with Wednesday's episode in a storyline that's been in the works for a while. "I knew near the end of season three that she really needed to move on," says Good Trouble showrunner Joanna Johnson. "I asked her if she would stay and do a couple of episodes in season four to give us a little time to give her the right send off, and she was totally game for that." The exiting Good Trouble star added: "The pandemic was really hard for me. I know I'm so privileged and I was so lucky to be able to work, but it also meant that I was separated from my family for 18 months. And there was something about not being able to see them if something happened, just the knowledge that you couldn't get on a plane and see each other, was really hard. I just had to be with them."
