HBO Max orders CNN-produced docuseries on fame and Heaven's Gate, plus a documentary on CNN female reporters on the campaign trail

The four-part Heaven's Gate will explore the circumstances that led to 39 members of a cult to commit mass suicide near San Diego in 1997, expecting that they would reach an extraterrestrial spacecraft. Alex Gibney's 10-part Generation Hustle will look at the lengths young people will go to for fame, fortune and power. The Scoop documentary will go behind the scenes with CNN female political reporters as they cover the 2020 presidential race. HBO Max has also ordered Persona, a documentary on America’s obsession with personality testing.
