“We had a conversation with Dave. I won’t get into it, but it’s very clear that it’s a very unique and specific and emotional issue he’s got,” HBO and HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys said at Variety's Virtual FYCFest. “So at the end of the year, at the end of this year, December 31st, we’re going to honor his request and take the show down.” Chappelle's Show debuted on HBO Max and Netflix at the beginning of November. But on Nov. 24, Netflix removed the Comedy Central show after Chappelle complained in his SNL monologue and in a standup video posted to Instagram that he was no longer earning money from the show.
