Helena Bonham Carter is set to play Princess Margaret on The Crown

The two-time Oscar nominee is “all but confirmed to play the inimitable royal,” taking over the role from Vanessa Kirby, according to The Evening Standard, which adds: “Bonham Carter has a personal connection to the Princess Margaret part: her home in Oxfordshire, Mill House, was previously owned by Margaret’s former lady-in-waiting, Jane Stevens.” Carter will star alongside Olivia Colman, who is taking over the Queen Elizabeth II role from Claire Foy for Season 3 and 4 of the Netflix series.
