About 700,000 watched the Philip Pullman adaptation on Monday night across all HBO platforms. That's not even close to the 7.2 million who watched on BBC Sunday night. But His Dark Materials has the No. 2 launch on an HBO Monday night, following Chernobyl's 756,000 in May.
