The YouTube series Forgotten Failures looks back at how Louis-Dreyfus followed Michael Richards and Jason Alexander with her own post-Seinfeld sitcom failure. Premiering in February 2002 and created by her husband Brad Hall, Louis-Dreyfus' Watching Ellie was a single-camera comedy that, premiering a few months after 24, also had a real-time gimmick. Co-stars included a pre-fame Carell, Louis-Dreyfus' sister Lauren Bowles and Peter Stormare. Despite bad reviews and low viewership (for 2002), Watching Ellie was renewed and retooled for a second season that looked more like a traditional sitcom. But after six episodes in 2003, Watching Ellie was canceled and Louis-Dreyfus broke the "Seinfeld Curse" with The New Adventures of Old Christine and Veep.
