The Westworld star wanted his HBO TV movie to be shot in a real Indiana prison to see what he could learn and give back. But, he says, "on a more basic level, maybe a selfish level, I was curious if I could pull it off. I think it’s pretty presumptuous to walk into a prison and convince a bunch of incarcerated men that you’re one of them.” Wright adds that he "fed off the energy" of the prison to channel his character's “emotional rawness."
