“One down, one to go," ESPN executive Norby Williamson was heard to have said before a large group of people when Hill announced her departure, says The Hollywood Reporter. According to the publication's sources, Smith's exit "was not voluntary. And his deal stipulates that he remain as the 6 p.m. anchor on ESPN for three years. He is a little more than a year into that deal, which pays him $10 million over four years."
