Roenick was suspended last December and fired in February after appearing on Barstool Sports' Spittin’ Chiclets podcast and joking about having a threesome with the co-host Kathryn Tappen. In a lawsuit filed in New York Supreme Court, Roenick accused of NBC of violating the state law against discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation. His lawsuit points to controversy over a promotional video involving NBC figure skating commentators Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir participating in a vulgar video spoof of U.S. national figure skating champion Bradie Tennell. Neither Lipinski nor Weir were suspended or terminated.
