Jesse Metcalfe doesn't think his Desperate Housewives character would exist in today's "critical, oversensitive world"

Asked by Variety if his role as a teenage gardener who is seduced by Eva Longoria's Gabrielle Solis could exist today, Metcalfe responds: "Probably not, because we’re in a oversensitive world right now. I think a lot of good is coming from this critical, oversensitive world because we’re thinking critically about a lot of the issues that need to be addressed. But I do feel like when there’s a movement, the pendulum tends to swing too far in the other direction and then it takes some time for everything to come back to equilibrium. And we’re in one of those moments right now."
